Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
A “missing” purse. A hot tub night with new friends. A couple chasing thrills so hard they stop seeing people as people. We jump into the strange, brutal story of BJ and Erica Seifert and how their relationship goes from intense to outright dangerous, with a vacation in Ocean City, Maryland as the turning point.
We walk through the early timeline and the whiplash pace of their marriage, then dig into the toxic push and pull that shows up once real life hits: long absences, control, jealousy, and the need for constant intensity. From there, the recap moves to Ocean City, where they meet Josh and Jeannie Ford, party at Secrets, and lure them back to a condo. What should have been a normal night turns into accusation and chaos when Erica claims her Coach purse is gone, along with valuables and prescription medication.
We also talk about the details that make this case so unsettling: the idea of “thrill crimes” as relationship glue, the careless choices that leave evidence behind, and the way partners often flip on each other when the pressure finally arrives. And yes, we get into the bizarre piece that helps bring everything down: a Hooters break-in for merchandise, the kind of stupid risk that ends up mattering.
Listen through, then tell us what you think the real catalyst is here: obsession, ego, or the rush. If you like our raw recaps and want more, subscribe, share the show with a friend, and leave a quick review so more people can find us.

Raw Recap And Drink Check
SPEAKER_00Hey Jesse.
SPEAKER_02What'd you say, Lindsay? Hello? Hey.
SPEAKER_01I said hey.
SPEAKER_02Hi. Hey. What's up? What's up?
SPEAKER_00Hi guys.
SPEAKER_01Hi guys.
SPEAKER_00We are. What are we? Drunk About Something.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, sometimes.
SPEAKER_00Raw. Raw uncut and unedited. God, I am just like sloppy today. Raw, uncut, and unedited um Drunk About Something, where we recap our latest episode that we recorded, which was this past Friday. And this week, I can't hear anything. I can't hear myself.
SPEAKER_02You can't hear yourself?
SPEAKER_00Where's my snare?
SPEAKER_02You need your snare? There is some snare.
SPEAKER_00So we um we recorded an episode about a killer couple.
SPEAKER_02We did.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. Um forgot I'm on TikTok as well. About a couple, um, named Benjamin and Erica Seifert or aka BJ and Erica Seifert.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Hitler and Hooters. Yes. That's what I called it.
SPEAKER_00They liked Hitler and they liked Hooters. I mean, it is what it is.
SPEAKER_02Not a good combination. Never is. It never is.
SPEAKER_00So, Jesse, what are you having to drink today?
SPEAKER_02Got me some crown over here, yeah. And some retro, is it retro vibes?
SPEAKER_00You drink one of my retro vibes.
SPEAKER_02You can hate me later, or you can hate me today, or you can hate me tomorrow.
SPEAKER_00So that's uh my favorite Celsius.
SPEAKER_02That's what I'm doing. That's what I'm doing, though.
SPEAKER_00I buy those for me to get through my work day.
SPEAKER_02It's happening.
SPEAKER_00Uh, but I am having a double watermelon Vista Bay from Aldi with some Celsius. A watermelon Celsius. Yes. And we have had a day at the river with the grandbabies and the children, and we have recorded our episode that will be out on Friday. We've had a shower, and now here we are. Jared coming. Recap.
SPEAKER_02We've done warst our ass.
SPEAKER_00What? Raw.
SPEAKER_02Uncut.
SPEAKER_00Raw, uncut,
Who Are BJ And Erica
SPEAKER_00unedited, unedited. Uh-oh. Oh my god. Anyways. Yeah, that. So Erica and BJ Seifert. So Erica, I believe her maiden name was Grace. So she's from Pennsylvania, the Altoona area. And then BJ, he's over here. He's in Iowa. And so Erica is an honor student. She goes through college. She plays basketball. Lots of sports. She does lots of sports. And she gets um, what did I say? Political science. She gets a degree in political science. Kicking all the ass. Kicking all the ass. And then BJ, he's over here, he's also kicking all the ass going through the Navy SEALs program. And somehow the universe was like, we need to get these these guys together. Um, because like there's not enough bad in the world. And we need to, we need to let these guys meet.
SPEAKER_02The attraction. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00We need to let these guys meet at a bar where they will become extremely obsessed with each other. And they're gonna marry each other after three weeks. So Erica and BJ become Erica and BJ Seyret. They're married. Now he's still in the Navy SILS program. And he goes off, he's out of town a lot. Erica's not cool with that. She's like, I don't like this. I don't like being an army wife. I don't like being alone.
SPEAKER_02No, so they're like they're corresponding between each other, and it it turns into a spot to where he's in Alaska and he flies her up at a secret plug place that he was at, which is like gonna be a little bit more.
SPEAKER_00Which wasn't supposed to be known to the public at all. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And then he kind of fucks off and he's like, you know, he disappears from the base and hangs out with her for a while. So like they go Yeah, they eventually like give him like dishonorable discharge over this. So the the snowball has started at this point.
SPEAKER_00But it's okay because her dad's gonna come and swoop in and help them open a scrapbooking store. Okay, this is the late 90s, by the way. Yeah, it was the 90s. It was the 90s. So they open this scrapbooking store in Altoona, Pennsylvania, because scrapbooking was all the rage, okay? But at the same time, it really didn't make a lot of profit.
SPEAKER_02I think it lasted just about as long as Pogs did. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But you know what's you know what's really like dominating? Yeah, pogs was the phase, but like Pokemon cards is they hung around.
SPEAKER_02They're hanging around. Magic the gathering.
SPEAKER_00They didn't hung around, they're still hanging around.
SPEAKER_02You know, and the tried and true Dungeons and Dragons is hung around. Yeah. She's wanting to be my headphones. She's wanting to be gingery.
SPEAKER_00Well, I'm it's weird, it was weird backwards with my headphones.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but I just it just gave me an excuse to say gingery.
SPEAKER_00Gingery. Gingery. One of our favorite characters of he is she uses her political science degree to open her scrapbooking store. And BJ is now out of the Navy SILES program after he had spent a lot of time in it and was top of his class.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And they become this really toxic couple. Now it is reported by Erica that BJ had a couple affairs while they were while he was in the Navy Sales program and on special assignments and things like that and stationed in certain areas. So and there's a lot of maybes.
SPEAKER_02Like maybe she thought he was so cool she was like wanting to be up there amongst him and just destroyed his military career, or maybe it was just so toxic. There's a lot of crazy. There's a lot of maybes. But I feel like both of them were both toxically attracted to each other, and they were both toxic toxic.
SPEAKER_00But they were great before they met each other. It's fucking weird.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they would have been they would have been amazing. I I I called him a superhero. So go back and check out the podcast on that one. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Episode 86.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we're gonna elaborate a little bit more though on the side.
SPEAKER_00So they meet up. Or they meet up. They they moved, they've been made up. Um, so they're in Altoona. They've got the scrapbooking store, and they get some snakes. You gotta listen to the full episode for the names. We're not even gonna, we're not even gonna tell you their names.
SPEAKER_02The Twisted Cross style snakes.
SPEAKER_00They have similar taste in movies, and they start to like doing crimes for the thrill of it. And there's certain things that they can't do in their marriage without these thrill crimes.
SPEAKER_02They really enjoy the thrill.
SPEAKER_00And especially uh according to Erica, especially BJ.
SPEAKER_02It becomes an erotic as fixation between the two.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Exfixation. It's how do you say as fixation, yes.
SPEAKER_00It's a fixation. Fixation. Yes, yes. Asphyxiation is like straight.
SPEAKER_02Well, maybe that too. Yeah. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00So they go to they go on vacation around 2002, and they're in Atlantic uh not not Atlantic City, Ocean City, Maryland, and they're they're gonna do the whole thing. Now they're their vacation was like, I think they were gonna do 10 days.
SPEAKER_02Right. They did do 10 days. So they have created a couple of little small petty crime things that they kind of got off on doing.
SPEAKER_00She Erica likes Hooters merch.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And I didn't like to say the Hooters thing yet, but yeah, that's fine.
SPEAKER_00You can say Well, that was a big thing. So because I'm gonna, yeah. So because Hooters leads to their demise. Yeah, Hitler and Hooters. Hitler and Hooters leads to their demise. So they are in Ocean City, Maryland. They're on vacation, they meet another couple who they get to party with them, and things go awry. They go very awry.
SPEAKER_02To their plan.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. To their plan. But this is yeah, it's it's a planned, it's a plot to get another couple into their elaborate condo.
SPEAKER_02And that's where Lindsay
Toxic Marriage And Thrill Crimes
SPEAKER_02starts destroying me. Whenever Lindsay's telling her stories, by the way, if she starts naming addresses, I've pointed this out. Like whenever she's like blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, and then 121 Ocean Avenue, I'm like, ha, here we go.
SPEAKER_01I don't even know. I don't even remember the address in this place. That's just close.
SPEAKER_02I'm just saying, no, it wasn't that way.
SPEAKER_01112 something Avenue, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, like, when she's on, like, she just starts naming addresses and road names. I already know. I already know that she's gonna dump the whole horrific story on me.
SPEAKER_00Well, the the place that they like go and hang out and party together with this new couple, um, Josh and Jeannie, it's a really cool place. I Googled it and I I kind of want to go there. Not because of this, not because I'm obsessed with this crime whatsoever. This crime was insane and disgusting, and I am horrified by it. I just want to go because it looks like a very cool place. Have you Googled it yet?
SPEAKER_02I, you know, I have not, but right now I'm still talking about addresses in my mind. I can't remember. I cannot remember.
SPEAKER_00They were staying at the rainbow. It was 112 something. I was like, I don't have my script. I'm going off the hip here.
SPEAKER_02I'm going, I'm I'm I'm ricocheting. I'm I'm ricocheting right now because I love your ginger hat. I'm on a ricochet on something.
SPEAKER_00It's 112 something.
SPEAKER_02What's the address from Finding Nemo?
SPEAKER_00Oh.
SPEAKER_01We should know this.
SPEAKER_00Key Sherman something Wallaby Way. Oh my god, I've got it. Sydney, Australia. Sydney, Australia. I have forgotten it. I need to watch What is that? I'm shutting this off right now.
SPEAKER_02I mean, we got the lives going. Somebody, somebody, come on, spam that shit. Because we I want to know. Like, I don't remember. Why?
SPEAKER_00Key Sherman 52 Wallaby Way. That's it. Sydney Australia. That's it. Somebody tell me the address in our TikTok live. Or on yeah, or or comment on YouTube here.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because like we should all know the Finding Nemo address.
SPEAKER_00Well, I did for a very long time, but I I haven't watched it in a while.
SPEAKER_02Wallaby Way?
SPEAKER_00It's something Wallaby Way. Wallaby. It's a fucking wallaby. So, anyways. Wallaby. Back to Benjamin and Erica. They have now met up with Josh and Jeannie. Josh Ford and Jeannie. Oh, I forgot our last name. It's it's different.
SPEAKER_02It's called alcoholism, Lindsay. We just forgot about it. So, like I said, we're just not alcoholics, but we're partaking right here. We're just cheers, everybody.
SPEAKER_00It's the weekend. This is what we do on the weekend. After we have worked responsibly and not drank the entire week, this is our break.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And we were good grandmother.
SPEAKER_00Thank you. Thank you. Yes, uh, thank you so much. Oh, Tessapation. I could have sworn it was 52. She said it's 42, and I'm gonna believe you. 42. Oh, we believe it. We believe it. We're not gonna believe it forever. I'm gonna believe you.
SPEAKER_02Not that we're gonna remember it, but we're gonna believe it.
SPEAKER_00So, anyway, so they're in Ocean City. They party at Secrets, which is spelled secrets like S-E-A, like they're by the sea.
SPEAKER_02And this is where Lindsay wants to take me eventually, right?
SPEAKER_00I do want to go because like I said, not because people that were involved in a crime went there. It's just because it looks like a really cool place.
SPEAKER_02They went and hung out there, and then some shit happened afterwards.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and if you're hey, if you're from the Maryland area, like is it really that cool? Tell me.
SPEAKER_02I believe so because you were talking about the pictures and the swim up bars and the little Yeah, I whole.
SPEAKER_00And I and I've heard, I mean, I actually listened to another couple um cover the same story, like way after like uh it came in my newsfeed.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so what by the way, your makeup looks so good, Lindsay. I bet I look like a a a blank catfish compared to the bigger.
SPEAKER_00Well, no, it was weird. It was weird because we covered this.
SPEAKER_02How did I pull this?
SPEAKER_00Hold on.
SPEAKER_02How did I get such a hot ass wife? Look at her.
SPEAKER_00Because you're a hot dog. No, come on, dude.
SPEAKER_02Look how pale I look. I look like I've died like four times by now. Shut up. I should be in a horror movie.
SPEAKER_00Stop talking about my husband. Anyways.
SPEAKER_02Sorry.
SPEAKER_00So look how pale I am. So Scandinavii. So I heard I heard this story, I want to say about three, four years ago. Uh, I want to say from the morbid ladies, possibly. Could have been. But, anyways, after we covered this and already recorded and everything, uh, when I was cleaning this past week, and I I put on uh a podcast from a creator that I already listened to, and then I'll just let it roll. Another couple, husband and wife duo literally came into my newsfeed about this case.
SPEAKER_03Really?
SPEAKER_00But they covered it, they covered it years ago. I want to say it was Wife of Crime is the name of the podcast.
SPEAKER_02Wife of Crime, yeah. So there's so many podcasts that do this stuff, you know?
SPEAKER_00They've been to Secrets, they live in that area.
SPEAKER_02Oh, wow.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so they were talking about how they really liked it, except there they they watched a woman get out of one of the water booths and just kind of like squat down and pee.
SPEAKER_02I wouldn't have got out. I think I would have peed right there.
SPEAKER_00Just pee in your booth.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, fuck it. It's your booth, right? This is my booth. Nobody makes me pee in my own booth.
SPEAKER_00So, anyways.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I would do it, dude. We we went to the river today and we peed on ourselves the whole time.
SPEAKER_00Uh most mate, allegedly.
SPEAKER_02Allegedly. We won't tell nobody about that.
SPEAKER_00Allegedly.
SPEAKER_02So, anyways, so kids all swimming up and shit. We're like peeing on them, whatever.
SPEAKER_00Erica and BJ meet Josh and Jeannie. Josh and Jeannie, or they they get Josh and Jeannie back to their condo in Ocean City, Maryland. They're partying, they're having a good time, they're having some more drinks, they're in the hot tub.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because Lindsay has already said the address.
SPEAKER_00I have said the address. You gotta go to the episode to listen to get the address. I don't I don't remember it off off the hip.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Erica turns up the heat, turns up the drama, turns up the the you know, everything, and says, Hey, where's my purse? She she says that she's lost her purse. That's right. It's a coach purse and it's got expensive jewelry and drugs in it. Oh, oh God. I'm probably gonna get restricted on TikTok here. It's got prescription medication in it.
SPEAKER_02Unprescripted, unprescribed, but yes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, unprescribed prescription medicine. There we go.
SPEAKER_02From Columbia.
SPEAKER_00From somewhere in there.
SPEAKER_02Some some of might have been from Columbia.
SPEAKER_00It was it was from the area. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I'm not sure exactly where they got it, but it was from the same area. So and other and other things.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_00Um, so Erica's freaking out, accusing Josh and Jeannie of stealing this purse. And they're
Ocean City Friends And A Setup
SPEAKER_00like, um, we're in our bathing suits in a hot tub. Where do you think we have this purse? So then the heat turns up, a crime happens, Josh and Jeannie are taken out.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and all the little parts and pieces are in the podcast, so you have to go back and check that out.
SPEAKER_00And then Josh, and then after, so Benjamin and Erica, BJ and Erica, they take out Josh and Jeannie. And then they go on and enjoy the rest of their vacay. Like, ooh, vacay.
SPEAKER_02By the way, in this horrific array of things that they did, they did not do a great job cleaning up. No. I just wanted to point this out.
SPEAKER_00And they go commit another crime. Yeah. For well, not only did they commit another crime, so they also tried to get another couple.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they were hooking up. They were trying to hook up. They were trying to get another couple.
SPEAKER_00They tried to do the same crime to more people, and uh they didn't. Uh it's it's very strange. You have to listen to the book, uh, Cruel Death is the book that I listened to about this case. And then they go, because Erica, she's obsessed with Hooters merchandise, and she likes to steal it. So they go and they break into a Hooters in Ocean City because they don't have anything from the Ocean City Hooters.
SPEAKER_02So this is after the horrific crime in the Days later.
SPEAKER_00Days later.
SPEAKER_02So, like, okay, so it was like the second day of their of their vacation that all this went down.
SPEAKER_00Yes. So it was Memorial Day weekend.
SPEAKER_02Y'all come on in. Uh, we're doing the lives right now, but uh, he brought some parts.
SPEAKER_00Our boy, our our grown boys have come home. They're allowed to listen to stuff like this. Not the not the children.
SPEAKER_02Well, no, no, we're having a party, but we're having a party. But um, so after like the the second day, they're just like, we need more um things to happen with us. We got a restriction because we enjoy this whole crime aesthetic, right? All the way up to the thrills. They like the thrills, all the way up to like taking people's existence away. And they decided to go to a Hooters.
SPEAKER_00They break into the Hooters to get Ocean City Hooters. This ain't cool enough. We're gonna go to Hooters, and that will be their demise. Demise. And they are charged. Now, they are charged with crimes, and then they probably would have just gotten a couple of days, but Erica's like, I'm having an anxiety attack. Please get my medication out of my purse.
SPEAKER_02Boom.
SPEAKER_00The purse contained evidence.
SPEAKER_02Ballgown.
SPEAKER_00And then when they're both arrested, they like many, many other couples, they turn on each other.
SPEAKER_02Ball gown.
SPEAKER_00And the couple that they did take out was a loved, respected, great couple. And they didn't they didn't realize that when they did it, and people were looking for them immediately.
SPEAKER_02By the way, Lindsay, real quick, real quick, by the way, on the lives and everything, if y'all know what this dangly thing is right here, and why I got this.
SPEAKER_00My hair is wet and it's leaking purple on my on my little TV.
SPEAKER_02If you know what this is and why this is here, hit us up, hit me up, or hit whatever our drinkabout something.site or drinkabout something pod at gmail.com and uh let me know what that is, and I will send you. That was cool, right? I will send you a free t-shirt and on the live crochet. Whichever one first one gets it, and all of my uh I was like tetherball. Yeah, but yeah, yeah. So uh anyhow, don't tell them what it is, but I'm not and don't don't don't tell them where it came from. But anyhow, hit me up and I will send you a free t-shirt. Drink about something, podcast t-shirt. That'd be cool, right? Yeah, so hit us up. Whoever first comes. That's all my like whoever comes first type thing. Because like we get hit up so many times after I do my little contests and stuff, and I'm like, I don't want to send out 200 t-shirts because there's so many people that hit me up. So, first one, it's always first one, always the first, first come, first serve. First come, first serve. And we have some number one followers and number one people that share, and like we have sent them so much merch and so much stuff, and we support that.
SPEAKER_00I know I gotta hand some out tomorrow.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, some true crime survivors that support us now, and I'm loving that. And they're famous right now, it's like so big. I'm sorry to interrupt, but this I see this thing backing up.
SPEAKER_00I want you guys to go back and listen to the full episode. So I don't want to give away everything in the recap. Yeah, I know. This is just a time for us to chat.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and what did that say? Somebody already said something, but um,
The Purse Accusation Turns Violent
SPEAKER_02I don't know what that is. But we're just trying to grow a little bit, and that's always fun, right? I think our old eyes can't even see that on the lives, can they?
SPEAKER_00So we got a warning that consuming substances featured in this live can harm your health.
SPEAKER_02I uh we know, we know we responsibly TikTok. We do it responsibly, and we do it moderately.
SPEAKER_00Moderately and responsibly, moderate responsibly. And so we're not gonna go too much further into this recap because we don't we do want you. I'm actually so I re-listen to all of our uh recorded episodes um the day they come out to make sure everything sounds good. You know, it's a review. Jesse does her editing, and I just want to thank you so much for that because I do the research and I write out the script and I put a lot of work into that, but you put a lot of work into making sure everything sounds good and clean and so this means I can do a shitty job next time and get it.
SPEAKER_01No, no, I'm I enjoy it too, Lindsay. I'm giving you props.
SPEAKER_02Thank you for destroying me. Each week because we both put a lot into it. Yes. Every Friday we put out one. And thank you for destroying me, Lindsay. But yeah, I I enjoy it. I really do. I mean, we have a big one coming out this Friday. It's a big one.
SPEAKER_00One that we're really passionate about.
SPEAKER_02Oh, everybody knows it. Everybody knows it. Oh, everybody knows it. But hook up.
SPEAKER_00I may know a little more than you do.
SPEAKER_02She does. Because I don't know.
SPEAKER_00When I get obsessed with something, I get really obsessed with it. And I want to know everything about this individual and read all the books and watch all the shows and the documentaries and everything.
SPEAKER_02So Yeah, the deeper dives.
SPEAKER_00Even if it's something you already know about, just click listen because you you may find out something that you didn't know.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and mind you though, I don't know anything about 99% of everything that Lindsay talks about. So I just I'm I'm like along for the ride.
SPEAKER_00This one he did, this one that's coming out on Friday, he does know about a little bit, but he still doesn't know everything that I know because I am crazy a little bit.
unknownA little bit.
SPEAKER_02You're a little crazy.
SPEAKER_00Well, I don't I don't want to say crazy. I just want to be informed.
SPEAKER_02I think that you are just uh just focused on trying to get all the information out, and I am focused on sharing this for awareness.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_02That's me.
SPEAKER_00And that's that's pretty much my our mission is like we want to talk about true crime, and then we also at the end of the episodes, we want to share new music.
SPEAKER_02You know, in a cool way though, we're historians.
SPEAKER_00True. Because we have covered a lot of things in history, yeah.
SPEAKER_02We're true crime historians. You like this now? Because I do. I'm all about some history. Where's my monocle? Dude, I was crying about history because of our frying pan. Literally.
SPEAKER_00So last night.
SPEAKER_02I was crying about a frying pan that was like almost 200 years old.
SPEAKER_00Last night, uh, so what I did was I did a clean out the freezer night, and I was literally cooking things that had been in our freezer. We needed to cook it up and consume it. And one of our cast irons, we have several of them, but it was the oldest one that we have. It popped and cracked while we were frying bacon and out of nowhere. Out of nowhere. And I didn't do anything wrong to it, like it had already been in the oven warm oven warming up, and then I put it on the stove, and I'm just frying some bacon.
SPEAKER_02And with cast iron, you're supposed to warm it up before you start using it. You're actually you're supposed to gradually bring up the cast. This thing is pre-Civil War cast iron. The best thing that doesn't stick, that that's the most healthiest for you. Like we start doing the research, and everybody does the copper and the all the uh the polymers and the crazy things that they do, this non-sticker, whatever, the Teflon and all the things, right? Then you turn around, everybody still goes back to cast iron.
SPEAKER_00Well, and I'm anemic, so cooking in cast iron actually help is better for my health. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02We're we're we're kind of sidetracking here a little bit, but at the same time.
SPEAKER_00That's okay. We've wrapped up the recap. Now we're just talking.
SPEAKER_02Historically, like I I enjoy being a historian and sharing the true crime aesthetic with you because we're documenting something that we can put out publicly or whatever in all of our little avenues and things, because you can check us out on so many different platforms, right? Apple, Pod, Podbean, Podcast, you know, everything, you know, Spotify, YouTube, all the stuff, right? It's there and it's going to be there digitally forever as long as we have a digital world, right? So we're we're we're documenting something historically, and our version and all the work that you did. So turn it around, we're historians, and I'm just using like a frying pan, which is crazy. But it was the oldest thing in our house, and then we have like Civil War bullets and things in our house that you know we we collect and from a tea set. Historians stuff that we have that are 150 years old, whatever, but this is older than that, and it just blew up right there while we're trying to cook a meal off of it.
SPEAKER_00So sad. It scared me, it traumatized me.
SPEAKER_02I was like, so yeah, so so the whole thing is the the whole thing is is
Hooters Break In And Evidence
SPEAKER_02if we ever get big enough in doing true crime podcasting, I'll I might be able to afford another one of those.
SPEAKER_00I don't want to throw it away.
SPEAKER_02Oh, dude. There's a guy that makes spatulas out of them.
SPEAKER_00All right, so we're gonna we're gonna find him and we're gonna make a spatula out of our cast iron skillets.
SPEAKER_02I feel like it, you know. I mean, it's so old. This thing's almost 200 years old. I did the research and turned it over and found all the little things, did not even know that was that old, and we found that uh uh uh like a reenactment or something.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and uh so we live in the area where the Battle of O Lesti was fought. So they do a reenactment, they do a whole Huda Maroo every year, and we ventured out to that area because it's right down the road from us, and we went so a lot of the booths like you can buy vintage clothing and everything if you want to do the reenactment yourselves, and you can also they have actual items from that time period.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we were for sale. We're we've done it our whole life. We we showed up there just to show our son because we're kind of bored with it, honestly. But we found some cool deals, right? Some cool silver work and some cool stuff, and she found that skillet there.
SPEAKER_00This we found a T-set, a skillet, and a and a fork. And it's a really fancy silver fork. I like I need to polish it.
SPEAKER_02It's it's I think we got the whole setup was like $35.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Everything that we bought.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. But dude gave us a skillet from like previous, like before the Civil War in the U.S.
SPEAKER_00And we've had it for over we've had it for over 10 years. Yeah. And it just it cracked on us while we were cooking last night.
SPEAKER_02And I didn't even know it was that old until I started looking at it and how they cast the cast iron and started like, I was like, wow. Which is, I mean, I don't know how many people would be interested in that, but like American history or whatever you want to talk about, historians and and then and then historically documented true crime and and your version of things that actually has happened. I do appreciate that part of it, and that's I'm excited about that. Lindsay, I want to hold on to that forever. Leave me alone.
SPEAKER_00So make sure you like, follow, and subscribe us. We have a uh a really good episode coming out on Friday, and I am excited. So Jess, so we've been having Jesse draw out of a bag for our next one, but I have one for uh for Pride Month uh coming up for next week, and then he will be drawing out again.
SPEAKER_02Sweet.
SPEAKER_00On our live recap for of that one. So he'll be drawing out so Friday, we have one that he already drew out. Next Friday will be one that he that he did doesn't know about at all. No, and then after that, we will go back to him trying it out because I like that because I I put like male cases and female cases and two little baggies, and then
T Shirt Contest And Why We Podcast
SPEAKER_00I'll have him draw one out. Yeah, and sometimes he's like, holy shit, and sometimes he's like, Who is this? So it's great.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and Juneteenth is coming up, so we hope you guys actually support that awareness as well. Absolutely, because there's a lot of his history again, once again, so Juneteenth's coming up, and Father's Day's coming up. There's so many things coming up, and just dads, and and there's there's good things that like we can always support, but in true crime, there's a lot of things to look out for, and that's where I'm so much at the end of after Lindsay's stories. I'm like, I'm trying to break down something to where you learn something that we can share something for awareness, you know?
SPEAKER_00Well, yeah, this all started because I wanted to just tell him because I'm I am uh obsessed with true crime, obviously, and I wanted to just tell him all the time about these cases that I had heard about, and I was like, why don't we do this in a podcast forum where I tell you the story and then you because this is what I've always wanted to do. I want to put local music and or or or unrecognized music out into the world on a platform that people can be like, oh, this is new, this is different, because people get in musical ruts as as well as you know, a rut from anything else in your life.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and so at the end I share a different band global from from a global platform. All over the world, from all over the world, and we share different music that is kind of unsigned or that nobody really knows who they are, but some of them have become big and famous or whatever, and I enjoy that part of it because that's that's my little realm over here, you know.
SPEAKER_00And it's our palette cleanser.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's so great. It's our palette cleanser, so great.
SPEAKER_00But we are going to go ahead and sign off for today. Stay tuned. So um, hopefully, we'll have a successful recap come out next Wednesday. If not, just make sure you listen to us on Fridays. We never know what happens on the recaps.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, I'm I'm the recaps are always up in the air. I'm on the fence over here over here, you know, Riverside. I I enjoy Riverside FM, but maybe it's just because we don't really have a real studio. We're just hanging

SPEAKER_02out in the kitchen and I plug stuff up and thinking it's gonna work, and we're so new that it's like later on when these kids get grown, we'll have an actual studio set up. Yeah, we'll have we'll have a whole little we'll have a whole little uh pod lab. Yeah, as true crime babies. We're still true crime babies. Yes. Yes.
