EPISODE 107: Willie Pickton part 1
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
A wealthy pig farm outside Vancouver sounds like a strange backdrop for a true crime story, until you hear what daily life on the Picton property actually looks like. We’re starting a multi-part deep dive into Robert Willie Picton, and part one lives in the origin story: a family business built on filth, control, and casual cruelty that never gets challenged because the money keeps flowing.
We also kick off November by spotlighting Not Our Native Daughters and talking about Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and the violence Indigenous communities face, including how often justice fails when perpetrators are non-Indigenous. That context matters here, because the case we’re building toward intersects with sex workers, Indigenous women, and the kind of institutional shrug that lets patterns continue for years.
From Willie’s childhood on a massive pig and poultry farm in Port Coquitlam, to a brutal “veal for dinner” moment, to quitting school and leaning into butchering, the warning signs stack up fast. We also cover the hit-and-run killing of 14-year-old Timothy Barrett and the family’s chilling reaction, then trace how inheritance, shady work, party culture, and a rendering plant near the Low Tracks start forming the map for what comes next: disappearances that authorities don’t want to take seriously.
To clear the air after all that, we feature the Brooklyn-based rock band Pig Milk with “Breakdown,” plus where to follow the pod, send case tips, and recommend unsigned bands. Subscribe, share this with a true crime friend, and leave a review so more people find the series and the MMIW resources we’re boosting.

Cold Open, Drinks, And MMIW
SPEAKER_02Hey Jesse. Hey, Lindsay. So there's TikTok sensations, right? Yes. I cannot help it, but I loved Lita Bita Bowda Butt. I just wanted to say R.I.P. Lita Beda.
SPEAKER_00Rest in peace. Beautiful. Scary, scary, scary dog.
SPEAKER_02So horrifying, dude.
SPEAKER_00But bless her heart. She has uh what Deborah said is she's went over the rainbow bridge.
SPEAKER_02900 years old. That was precious, though. That was so precious.
SPEAKER_00Poor little donut neck thing. I know. Happy Friday.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it's gonna be a hell of a month right here, though.
SPEAKER_00Yes, it is. And this is the month of November where we are recognizing our Indigenous people friends. And so this month, every week this month, we are going to shout out an organization that still raises awareness for missing and murdered Indigenous women or peoples. And uh the organization that we are going to recognize today is Not Our Native Daughters. And if you go to their website, it will tell you that Native American women face some of the highest rates of violence in the United States. The Department of Justice reports that 84.3% of Native American women have experienced violence in their lifetime, which is significantly higher than the national average. Between 86 and 96% of sexual abuse of Native women is committed by non-indigenous perpetrators who are rarely brought to justice.
SPEAKER_02And we talked about this last year. And I think we need to revisit this every November.
SPEAKER_00Oh, we're definitely going to. So that is the organization that we're going to recognize this year or this week. And it also says that the violence, this violence, has its roots in colonial history, starting with Columbus's 1492 expedition, because fuck Columbus. Yeah. And fuck Columbus Day. Yeah, indigenous. It's indigenous people. First people. Yes. Because they were here first.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I mean, they were the most godly to me. I mean, I'm just saying I kind of partook in that for like 30 years.
SPEAKER_00Yes. And welcome everyone to the Drink About Something podcast, where we talk about true crime. We have a couple of drinks. And at the end of the episode, Jesse plugs an amazing band that we have permission to play. And Jesse, what are you, what you got in your cup tonight?
SPEAKER_02First of all, Lindsay, I want you guys just to hang on a minute. Okay. Because the band is going to be amazing.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay. I'm excited.
SPEAKER_02I'm excited about that. And I just did some Jack and some Cherry Coke. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Jack and Cherry Coke. That sounds delicious, actually.
SPEAKER_02I had to do it. You know, it's been a while, actually.
SPEAKER_00Um, I just kind of like the mix.
SPEAKER_02I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I really love a cherry Pepsi Zero. That is my favorite of all the Zeros. Because I am a sugar-free gal. I'm sure if y'all have been listening for a while, you know that I drink the white claws, the Trullies, the Vista Bays, anything as little sugar as possible.
SPEAKER_01BWB.
SPEAKER_00Yes. And today I'm having a so I'm having another truly unruly. And it is strawberry smash. And this one is delicious. This is better than the berry smash. You had the tropical wave last night. What did you think about that?
SPEAKER_02It was good. I'm just chuckling because you you let me get away with saying W.
SPEAKER_00I don't know what you said. I don't understand.
SPEAKER_02I don't know what white beer.
SPEAKER_00Well, duh.
SPEAKER_02I love it. Because I am too, because I had me a white mocha pumpkin latte.
SPEAKER_00Fuck yeah, I did too yesterday. Freezer the other day. It was so good. I had sugar free. But yeah, so what I've been doing, so it's now my Thursday treat before I go to work. I get a small pumpkin white mocha, sugar-free freezer, and a small old faithful, the Dulce sugar-free freezer. Because that's my favorite favorite.
SPEAKER_02So you're double fisting.
SPEAKER_00Well, yeah. Because I like, I want both the flavors, and the pumpkin's not going to be around very much.
SPEAKER_01I bet you're rocking in Geekville, though.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah. And you know what's great is like the caffeine, that much caffeine, is really kind of essential to a server's attitude. It keeps you happy and bubbly. And I made a shit ton of money last night, even gonna lie. So yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Anytime I am wired to the max, we had a whole festival dump out on you just here recently. The whole Hulaen fest.
SPEAKER_00That was really I've never been, but those are my favorite people.
SPEAKER_02Leave your comments in the comment section on that one because we want to know.
SPEAKER_00Yes. Do you guys attend Hulouen? Any of our listeners, do y'all attend Huluen over in Lev Oak, Florida?
SPEAKER_02Do we need to come?
SPEAKER_00Spirit of the Swannic.
SPEAKER_02Do we need to tell stories at Hulaen?
SPEAKER_00Because I love waiting on you guys. And definitely let me know if you're a listener because I will just geek out.
SPEAKER_02Seems like they might be part of our tribe. Lindsay, you got stories though, but first, but first.
Feeling Old And 1994 Nostalgia
SPEAKER_00Oh shit. You're asking me.
SPEAKER_02What made you feel old this week?
SPEAKER_00All right, so I'm a little late to this. I've had it in my notes for a minute, and I guess I've just been skipping over it. But did you know that there is a Gen Z content creator that said that boomers and millennials need to retire so that they can have jobs. First of all, they skipped completely over Gen X. Like, what did Gen X like disappear?
SPEAKER_02They don't want to pick on Gen X. That's the hard hardcore crew.
SPEAKER_00Well, you and I are close to Gen X. We're super close. Like we can compete. We are the eldest millennials. And boomers are already retired, first of all.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Or they're getting ready to. Us millennials, we we want to retire. But we got a long ass time, buddy.
SPEAKER_02Skipped over Gen X because they don't want to nosebleed.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. That's what uh we got we got a long ass time. We still got about 27 years. So sit your ass down. Uh we will be in this job circuit. We will be in the job core for a for a quite a while. You can't kill us off yet. Well, maybe. But good news is you can have the boomers job soon. Like they're out there, they're ready for you.
SPEAKER_02Because we're not gonna move up because you know the rhymes of the ladder has gone away.
SPEAKER_00Gen X is still there and they ain't going nowhere for about what 12 more years.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we don't pick on them either because we don't want a bloody nose as well.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Well, I was gonna say we're we're close cousins. So yeah. Yeah, we're we're like half brother and sister. We're like blood brothers, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Nose blood brothers. For sure, dude. They would have smacked your ass for talking this way.
SPEAKER_00Well, say, yeah, I mean, we're old enough millennials that anything Gen X relates to, we're right there with them. There's nothing that they can literally say that we haven't experienced.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we grew up around it. I was raised with it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they would they would beat me up and then tell on me for being bad.
SPEAKER_00I was like, two of my best friends are literally one and two years older than me, and they are Gen X, and I'm a millennial. So, like, that's how close we are. Yeah, Jesse is the eldest millennial, and I'm right behind him, scooting it.
SPEAKER_02I'm ancient millennial. That's what I am.
SPEAKER_00No, you're like the prehistoric. You're like the wise millennial. And I'm right behind you. I'm a wise ass. You're like the alpha. I'm the beta. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_02So me, Lindsay, you made me feel old this week. I did. Yeah, you keep sharing all this shit that is old as shit. You keep doing it, dude. It's a lot.
SPEAKER_00Which one? Because I I do. I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_02All of them like the songs, like the 1994 mix of the best everything. Yes. Yeah. So that is the goat, right? I mean, we still lost Kurt that year, you know?
SPEAKER_00I know.
SPEAKER_02So, but still, like so much. There was just so many cool bands, music, culture, everything was mixing together, like rap, hip-hop, metal. And 94 was when I country music was even mixing with rock music. What? Okay.
SPEAKER_00Well, 94 was like a year that I started coming out of my sheltered sh uh shell as well. So it was like, yeah, it was creeping out. I was poking my little head out, the turtle shell. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02I think you were born until 1994. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I really, honestly. Honestly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So that would make you Gen Z. No, it wouldn't.
SPEAKER_00No, they're not until 96. Oh. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Close. No. I'm kidding. I know. Leave me alone. Tell me some of the story. No, I had a lot of people.
SPEAKER_00I had a lot of exposure prior to that with like girls' club and stuff, but like it I say that I was pretty much born in 94 because that's when I discovered grunge music. And that was like the start to the music that I love.
SPEAKER_02The blue album, right? Weezer's like 94, once again.
SPEAKER_00Never mind. And was 10 out yet?
SPEAKER_02Yes. Yes. They were on their third album, I think Pearl Jam was. I think second or third album. Yeah, yeah, for sure. For sure. They had like five against one, then ten, then what was the other one that they did after that? Damn it. Was it Jeremy or was that on 10? No, it was on uh 10.
SPEAKER_00I thought Jeremy had the I don't know. We'll look that up later.
SPEAKER_02We're getting that old, yeah. But anyhow, as I was saying, Lindsay has stories.
SPEAKER_00I do. So you guys strap in. This is gonna be all right.
Picton Family And A Filthy Farm
SPEAKER_00So today we are heading to a farm. A farm that was said to have been surrounded by lush forests full of blackberries, streams full of salmon and bears, and many well-to-do families of doctors who worked at the nearby brand new hospital. This farm was located in Porcoquillum, British Columbia, Canada, which is about 17 miles from downtown Vancouver. Oh. On this farm lived the Picton family. Leonard and Louise and their three kids, Linda, Robert, and David. The middle child, Robert, is who we are drinking about for the next few weeks. Robert William or Willie Picton was born October 24th, 1949. Leonard Picton, his father, had also been one of three kids that would inherit the farm from his family, and then later on marry Louise, who was 16 years younger than him.
SPEAKER_02So he was in his 30s.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. When he met oh Louise. The Picton farm was a pig and poultry farm, and the family was actually very wealthy. But they were disgusting. It's said that Leonard was very lazy yet very abusive. And Louise was a hard-working woman who wore a house dress over men's jeans, tucked into a pair of gum boots and a bandana around her almost non-existent hair. That was pretty much her uniform. And she also had no teeth. And what completed her look was a mustache and a goatee.
SPEAKER_02Oh, a regular Dolores Claiborne there. Yes.
SPEAKER_00No. Don't you insult my Kathy Bates like that. Because Louise, ew. Uh Kathy Bates is all right. Just all right. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_02No. We just did that for the whole month. No.
SPEAKER_00You're right. Yeah. She has played some horrific characters. Yeah. But Kathy Bates, as a person, is gold.
SPEAKER_05Gold.
SPEAKER_00Now, while it's said that Linda was raised like a proper little lady, always with pretty dresses, and was allowed to attend birthday parties and socials and such, the boys were treated like farmhands. And they had to slap the pigs and feed the chickens every single morning before school. And on this farm, they had 200 pigs.
SPEAKER_03What?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And a shit ton of chickens. I don't know exactly how many chickens, but on this farm, this particular farm, because they're going to move in a little bit.
SPEAKER_02Was one of the pigs named Misery? I'm still on it. Sorry. We live in October. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00So they had to slap the pigs, feed the chickens before school every morning, and then sometimes have to come home midday to do it again, and then do it again at night after school.
SPEAKER_02Constant, yeah, for sure. You got to keep up with a lot of farm animals.
SPEAKER_00They were filthy and stunk all the time and bathed maybe about once a week.
SPEAKER_02Don't you just know that smell? Don't you just know it? You can smell it from it.
SPEAKER_00I'm angry right now. I'm angry right now. You know how foul smells. They literally anger my soul. Like there's something about a stank smell that pisses me the fuck off.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but they're nose blind. They can't help it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, nose blind, whatever. Okay, you know you're supposed to bathe. That's like a normal thing. But Willie, he actually had a phobia of bathing. What? He didn't even like to get water on his face. There was no shower in the house. There was only a tub. So you know how that is anyway. Like, that's um, I always think about what Damian says in his book, like one of the guys he was in prison with would literally stink worse after he had a shower. That's how I feel like bathing after you've slopped pigs three times in one day in a bathtub.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, as bad as it was growing up and the poverty that I grew up with, uh took a bath on the front porch in a tub. So I mean, I we were pretty clean, but at the same time, we was I'm gonna say, y'all, I know that y'all smelled.
SPEAKER_00Yes. I smelled too as a young because I think there's a certain point where you you are nose blind until I think it's when you he hit puberty. That's when you're aware.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but I don't remember me growing up as a kid not taking a bath at least once a day.
SPEAKER_00A day, right? Well, they're doing it maybe once a week.
SPEAKER_02The boys.
SPEAKER_00Linda's taken care of.
SPEAKER_02That's loud. That's loud and wrong.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but Dave and Willie, they stank, okay? Yeah. And if that wasn't enough for the evil school kids to pick on, both boys had very high-pitched voices and talked like Elmer Fud. Especially David. He said his was worse than Willie's. And of course, they were called Piggy. And now they called Leonard Piggy, the the father, and he was cool with it, whatever. But when you're a kid in school and you're getting picked on for your smell, and you're getting picked on because you live on a pig farm, that's you know, they're not they're not having a great time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but I bet dad was like, that's the smell of money. That's what I'm thinking, it's just like, you know, it is that's how he got by, right?
SPEAKER_00I mean, and to be, but to be fair, like Louise is she's running this shit, but we'll get more into that in a minute. But they had these weird homemade brush cuts, and it said that they didn't even fit in with the other farm kids. Like there was the doctor's kids, there was the farm kids, and then there was the pictin' kids. What? At the bottom of the totem pole. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Didn't even get baptized into the ag program or nothing. I mean, nothing cool.
SPEAKER_00They were in their own little Picton world. Now, Willie and Dave were both strange to say the least, but Willie was by far the most strange. It said that when he didn't want to deal with people, uh, like I guess his family, because he really didn't have anybody else, uh, and they were reported as being absolutely fucking awful. Willie would hide inside the carcasses of freshly butchered picks.
SPEAKER_02So here's where we come in to the salad.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_02And I haven't talked about salad in a while because everything else was just full of flavor the last few months.
SPEAKER_00You know the when we when we when we're building a salad, what are we talking about? Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02So, like, just toxic ass humanity in a family household is happening right here, right now.
SPEAKER_00Right. But this is kind of this this makes me be like, oh, for a brief moment, because you know how I was with Edgeen too, okay. Willie saved up money, okay? He saved up $35. And the family went to a cattle auction because they had some cows too. And the and I forgot to put that in there, but yeah, they had to milk the cows too. So they're milking the cows, they're feeding the chickens, they're slopping the pigs, going to school, coming home, doing it for lunch. Yeah. So they got full-time jobs on top of school as children.
SPEAKER_02Strangely oppressed at the same time.
SPEAKER_00Very oppressed. So Willie saved up $35. Family went to the auction, and Willie bought himself a calf. And this was his pet. And he literally thought he would have this cow for the rest of his life. One day, he came home from school and he couldn't find his calf, and he's looking everywhere. He's, I mean, he's distraught as fuck. And then after a while, his dad said, Go look in the barn. And there he saw his baby pet calf butchered and hanging from the hooks. So there's some more salad for you. Yeah, you son of a bitch. You son of a bitch. And you know what's crazy? It's like Louise was like, Well, I'll get you, I'll give you some money. I'll give you $20 to go get another one. Why did you butcher that one? Yeah, but tonight we're having veal. Woo! Fuck N-A. I hate to say it, but veal is some good shit. Uh, but I've only had it like three times. But it is really good. God. But you don't do that to Willie's fucking baby. Yeah, God. I mean, these parents made this fucker. They shaped and molded who he's gonna become.
SPEAKER_02In come the croutons. The veal croutons. The dried stop it.
SPEAKER_00Stop it. God rest his baby cafe.
SPEAKER_02Flank croutons.
SPEAKER_00I need another sip of this, unruly, before I get more deep into this. This I'm stressed out already. I'm trying my best, Lindsay. Oh, no. All right.
Veal Dinner And Leaving School
SPEAKER_00In 1963, the family moved from the original farm at uh 2426 Pitt River Road to another farm at 993 Dominion Avenue.
SPEAKER_02Her and her addresses. I know. Addresses.
SPEAKER_00Where they would have around 40 acres and seven hundred pigs.
SPEAKER_02That's a whole new level.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02You've leveled up.
SPEAKER_00They went from two to seven hundred. Now, this at this point, Linda, she went to go live with family in Vancouver because it said that her parents really didn't think a pig farm was a place for a young woman to grow up because she's in her late teens by this time. Okay. So Dave and Willie, all these kids are, I think, one year apart. So Linda's the oldest, then Willie, then Dave. And uh Willie and Dave are in their mid-teens. And around 1965, Willie he quit school and he got a job as a meat cutter. And do you want to know why he quit school? I didn't even write it down, but I know it off the top of my head.
SPEAKER_01Do say.
SPEAKER_00Okay, this is this is from Willie's mouth, though. So he said that he got one of those pens that when you flip it, like it had a lady on it, and when you flip it, like her skirt came up. Oh yeah. And the principal caught him having it. And Willie like refused to let him confiscate it. And the principal was like, Well, you can leave. And he was like, Deuces.
SPEAKER_02Hyper as fixated on just an image. Wow.
SPEAKER_00I think the principal just wanted that pen for himself. Well, shit, yeah, I got kidding. He was jealous. Did it?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we had a magazine. I mean, you know, dude. Middle school.
SPEAKER_00Was it like Playboy or something? Or Hustler?
SPEAKER_02It was the good ones.
SPEAKER_00Well, Hustler, to me, I only read Playboy and Hustler. So which one of those two? Or was it Hustler? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Hustler had a better article.
SPEAKER_02The rounchy. Long walks on the beach. What? Never even seen that in one of them books.
SPEAKER_00No. When I mean articles, this is written literature of sexual activity. It did.
SPEAKER_02We flipped past those. You know, we
SPEAKER_00Because y'all are illiterate. It's fuck. You read it, you realize reading is the window to the sale.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_00But you would have been reading.
SPEAKER_02Put yourself in my middle school shoes, Lindsay. Leave me alone a bit. Now I feel uncomfortable. Like we're darkened to me. I'm just diving.
SPEAKER_00I feel like I'm just I was reading Harlequin novels in middle school. So I was a step above your fucking hustler magazine. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Of course. Well, my buddy brought them and he's like, check this out, man. Here you can take this one home. And of course, I got caught with it.
SPEAKER_00Well, I had to use my imagination. You got images.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's the only difference.
SPEAKER_02Imagine my Lindsay.
SPEAKER_00Imagine my mother's horror when she walked in on me reading a goddamn Harlequin novel.
SPEAKER_02Oh. See, and I bet that was way cooler imagining imagining that than versus what I just seen. Yeah. I don't even remember any of that. I just remember the principal walking around with it in his back pocket. You know, that's 35%.
SPEAKER_00But that's like I said, I see your hustler and I raised you a Harlequin. You did.
SPEAKER_02I get it. I get it. It's deeper now, and I understand now.
SPEAKER_00So Willie has now quit school. He got a job as a meat cutter, which is what they did on the farm already, and he still worked on the farm. But his parents, well, well, Louise, to be exact, she wanted him to be a little bit more professional at it. You know, she wanted him to have this apprenticeship as pretty much, you know, as a butcher.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And when they got old enough, they fucking tripled the fucking livestock and just fucking made them work their asses off. I'm glad that some are stepping over there.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02You ever swap pigs? Yeah, you could smell it from a mile away.
SPEAKER_00Well, it smells like the mash in the moonshine. It pretty much is.
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah, especially if you put the corn in water for like a couple of things. That's what we did. That's what we fed them. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. It was like three days. We put the corn in the water, and we just called it sour corn, but you know.
SPEAKER_02And the pigs loved it even more. They loved it.
SPEAKER_00And it stinks. Stanks so bad. Oh my God. I I can smell it right now in my nose.
SPEAKER_02Who didn't make fun of the people that we drove by on though? Like, I couldn't help it. Well, my school bus, like when we went by and picked up the kid from the pig farm.
SPEAKER_00Well, so my dad had, you've seen you know what our land looks like. So, you know, way back there where my cousin lives now, yeah. That's where we had the pigs.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we're talking some good acreage in there.
SPEAKER_00Way, it was way back there. So nobody could smell our farm and except for when it was time for my dad to fertilize the soil.
SPEAKER_02And you were downwind. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, the chickens. Jesse, I lived on a farm that was called Hallelujah Farm.
SPEAKER_02You got it. You got it.
SPEAKER_00I got everything. And and of course, uh, there would always be cows humping. Like it was like they knew when the bus was scheduled to drop me off and pick me up. And they were like, Oh, it's time to mate right now.
SPEAKER_02Nothing but mammals. And everybody pulls up and they're like, We do it like they do on the Discovery Channel. And then Lindsay has to get on the bus.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02And they're all like, they're watching these cows bang and they're like, Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, because my dad had this big ass sign, and there would be the cows right under it.
SPEAKER_02It would have been flashing if he could have put it from batteries or powered it up. He would have had like strobe lights flashing. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_00Well, and my you know, sheltered ass thought that everybody was uh as extremely Christian as we were.
SPEAKER_02You was raised just like Carrie, wasn't you?
SPEAKER_00I was.
SPEAKER_02We can go on to that in a minute, but you got stories.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, we forgot to talk about that. So well, he Willie, he became amazing at their butchering process, and he he liked it just a little too much. Now, Willie had been a quiet kid, not very sociable. But Dave, he seemed to be kind of popular. And Dave had girlfriends, even though he was just as dirty and fucking stinky. And their house, the house that they lived in was that of horror movies. Like I literally think of a mixture of the Firefly household, the fucking um Texas Chainsaw family. What was their last names?
SPEAKER_02The Sawyer family. Sawyer family slash Ed Geen.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, let me throw that off.
SPEAKER_00All that. Yeah, so I was yeah, I was about to mention him. Like all of that mixed together, just the filth.
SPEAKER_02But why couldn't they just put a Captain Howdy in there? It'd have been way cooler. At least the music would have been.
SPEAKER_00But what was different was these people were fucking rich. They could have hired somebody to come in and clean. They just loved to waller in this shit. They live they you know what they had for furniture? One mattress in the fucking living room. A literal flop pad, as you call it, in the fucking living room.
SPEAKER_02In comes the cheese. It's very moldy under the salad. I mean, for sure.
SPEAKER_00And their house was dirty, stinky, trashy, bug ridden. The animals would wander in and out. And this was a business.
SPEAKER_02Ma! Laura Bell just shit in a living room.
SPEAKER_00People were buying meat from the filthy ass Pictons.
SPEAKER_02They're probably cheap.
SPEAKER_00And it was a successful business. And like Louise, she did most of the admin work for the business. She also bought around um a hundred very large freezers so that people would purchase like a whole pig. She would, you know, store the meat, or and and she would even rent these out to surrounding farms, farmers to also store their meats.
SPEAKER_02And the picture of all this right here is just a horror story to begin with. You can stop here and we can be like, all right, and we're done. I literally sent a message to Aaron earlier.
SPEAKER_00Well, I sent a message to Aaron earlier. I was like, girl, because she knows all about Willie Picton. I was like, I'm covering Willie Picton for the next month. I was like, this is gonna be my diet plan. I expect to be 10 pounds lighter because this shit has made me nauseous. I have literally stopped eating three times in the middle of researching this shit.
SPEAKER_02Sounds super fucking horrifying right here.
SPEAKER_00It's just gonna get worse. I did say earlier that Willie is the main Picton that we'll be drinking about, but the others deserve a big ass gulp as well, as Jesse pulls his cup to his face.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'll need to really like kind of chill out a little bit. I'm already gonna go.
Timothy Barrett Hit-And-Run
SPEAKER_00Well, that's a take a big gulp because on October 16th, 1967, Dave had just recently gotten his license. And he was driving Leonard's big truck, and on his way home, he hit a 14-year-old boy named Timothy Barrett. Oh my god. Hit him hard. And he just left him there on the side of the road instead of helping him. He ran straight home to tell mom and dad, and they were like, uh, show me the damage on the truck.
SPEAKER_02Can you get away with this? Does it look like it's not so bad?
SPEAKER_00What the fuck? Now there was a huge fucking dent. But I mean, most of their vehicles were already kind of dented to shit. So they took it straight to their usual mechanic. And the mechanic was surprised that the Pictons wanted this dent taken care of because, like I just said, they didn't really give a fuck about what the outside of their vehicles looked like, just as long as they were running. So he thought that this was odd. And there was blood on the truck. And the Pictons were like, Yeah, we need you to get this dent out, paint over the blood, and then call me later. Okay. Well, while Dave's dealing with that, Louise, she drives to the scene of the crime. And instead of helping young Timothy Barrett, she rolls him into the ditch, a water-filled ditch. And Timothy is later found deceased by his own father, who was in the uh Royal Air Force, because you know this is Queen's Country by the Royal Air Force. And it said that his father just fucking collapsed. Like he found his shoe. Who fucking wasn't he out looking for his boy right then? Damn it. Well, the impact from the truck had not killed Timothy. It gave him some internal bleeding and and and shit like that, but it had not killed him.
SPEAKER_02Totally savable, right here, right? We need some.
SPEAKER_00What killed him was the water in the ditch. Oh the autopsy showed that he had drowned.
SPEAKER_02All of this, I'm so fucking oh my god.
SPEAKER_00Oh look. Three-parter. Yeah. And we're only halfway in the first part.
SPEAKER_02So Wow, yeah, I gotta let me put my seatbelt on.
SPEAKER_00Shit. Now the mechanic saw the story on the news later on that night, and he called the police because he was like, Nope, not gonna be a part of this shit. And Dave, he was only put on parole and lost his license until he was 21 for a hit and run. Vehicular manslaughter. Vehicular manslaughter.
SPEAKER_02I mean, involuntary money. And it was just at the same time, you left the scene of the crime, so I guess it would be voluntary.
SPEAKER_00Well, that was literally all he was charged with was a hit and run. He wasn't charged with manslaughter.
SPEAKER_02What?
SPEAKER_00Louise didn't get shit because nobody knew that her part in it.
SPEAKER_02Oh, they couldn't prove that that didn't just knock him all the way in the ditch. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Uh yeah, it was just Tim's death was just rules that rolled as an accident.
SPEAKER_02So later on, we're gonna find out that she came in or something came into play where that proved that she rolled him in the ditch.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_02No?
SPEAKER_00That's it. That's that's the end of that part of the story.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Louise is a murderer and got away with it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, accomplice too, for sure. Either way, you stop. Well, she is Dave.
SPEAKER_00What Dave did, he could have been saved. What Louise did killed him. Yeah. So, period. Now in the 70s, because he was so stinky and nobody wanted to be around him. Willie signed up for a pen pal program and started and started regularly communicating with quite a few women. Did you were you ever part of a pen pal program?
SPEAKER_02Fuck no, dude. Really? No, I wanted to go play outside or something.
SPEAKER_00No, we did it through our class.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they did have that. Now I did. Now I remember corresponding a little bit, some kid in Asia. I'm sure.
SPEAKER_00My girl was from Nicaragua.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I'm trying to think. Oh, it was only like a few. It was no, it was, it was probably about a three-week.
SPEAKER_00Really? So it was my whole third grade year.
SPEAKER_02Maybe it was like because like I didn't get letters back.
SPEAKER_00Oh, we didn't.
SPEAKER_02It was like it was like two or no, it was three letters that I'd got back. And we had to we had to read them and stuff in class and talk about it and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_00I don't remember how many we corresponded, how many went back and forth, but it was our whole third grade year.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00We started at the beginning of the year and then we ended it at the end of the year.
SPEAKER_02And I, you know, it might have been a three-month thing for me because I only got three letters back, probably to get it across and do another. Yeah, I think it was three months.
SPEAKER_00What school did you go to in third grade?
SPEAKER_02Same one as you.
SPEAKER_00Okay, well, well, ours lasted the whole year.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but I didn't get anything back, you know. So mine, I just kind of gave up on it.
SPEAKER_00That was like a requirement. They had to write you back.
SPEAKER_02It didn't happen.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02They didn't they probably couldn't read my fucking writing in third grade. They were like, Who's this dude? Fuck him.
SPEAKER_00Well, I had a girl.
SPEAKER_02I'm I'm Asian and I can write better English than you.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, he was three years ahead of you in everything. Period. So his favorite pen pal was a woman named Connie Anderson. And when Willie was around 24 or 25, he hopped on a bus to go see Connie in Pontiac, Michigan. Is that who the Pontiac is named after? The car? Because I know in Michigan it's where they build a lot of cars, right? Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Is that where the Pontiac is?
SPEAKER_00What kind of car is Pontiac? I don't forgot.
SPEAKER_02Sunbird, Firebird, Pontiac.
SPEAKER_00Pontiac.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Ozmobile, right?
SPEAKER_02Ozmobile's Pontiac, yeah. Well, they have the Sunbird, the Firebirds, the Pontiacs, the the um Smoky of the Bandit car.
SPEAKER_00So, but those vehicles were named after Pontiac, Michigan.
SPEAKER_02Well, it was also part of like the Native American community as well, actually.
SPEAKER_00I do know that, but I'm saying the Pontiac Vehicle was it named after this town?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02Because that is where they used like they were manufactured.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Early automotive and stuff, whenever they were in like coming in the muscle cars and things, like they were doing really cool names of real Americana stuff. Right. And also giving history to a lot of the culturalistic things. And they really build a culture there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02On top of us forefronting the whole Native American. Well, I do know that that's popular. It's really good. It was a good thing that they used that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00For indigenous. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, for sure. For sure.
SPEAKER_00Well, that's where the whole pipeline or water pipe, yeah, was it that they were fighting over a few years ago.
SPEAKER_02Still are.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, still. Fuck yeah, dude. It isn't in media right now, so that's why I haven't heard that.
SPEAKER_02We just need Randy Blythe to come back and make awareness again before we do it.
SPEAKER_00Bly. Don't forget. Blight. Randy Bly.
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_00So Willie traveled for about six weeks working from spot to spot. And in one town, Willie said that he was approached to be a male model. And they offered him $40 an hour. Now, Jesse, real quick, I'm going to show you a picture of Willie Picton.
SPEAKER_02This is going to be funny, I bet. Don't you make me laugh my own laugh, Lindsay? Nobody makes me laugh my own laugh. Here she comes. Here she comes again. Oh. He looks like the guy in the background on the Hustler magazine.
SPEAKER_00Doesn't he look like he fits in a horror movie, though?
SPEAKER_02He does, dude.
SPEAKER_00So rough. He reminds me of Hoggle.
SPEAKER_02He reminds me of Smeagle.
unknownGolem.
SPEAKER_00Smee Hoggle. Golem. I mean, this is a guy whose nickname was Ratface in school. You know what I'm saying? Like, I don't really want to make some fun of somebody's looks, but Willie deserves it when we get further into the story.
SPEAKER_02Oh, so he is full-on the whole salad, the soup, and the sandwich right here.
SPEAKER_00The lunch special. Yes. And he also thinks he's got this idea. $3.99 at the piggly wiggly.
SPEAKER_02Ain't done yet, Lindsay. All right, go ahead.
SPEAKER_00Well, later on, he'll talk about this. He thinks that America is obsessed with George Washington and cherry pies. And he acts like that we just forced that shit on him. Like everybody's eating cherry pies. They just wanted me to eat cherry pies. It's my cherry cherry pie. Yeah. What? So he goes to see Connie when he gets back to Port Coquitlam, he swears he's engaged. But that Connie, she just couldn't leave her job. And I don't really hear anything else about Connie. Has anybody checked on Connie? By the way.
Inheritance, Businesses, And Party Culture
SPEAKER_00Okay. So in late 1978, it was actually New Year's Eve. Old Leonard passed away. He was in his 90s. That's how much older he was than Louise.
SPEAKER_02Holy fuck.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So if you live like that, you live long.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02If you waller with the pig, he's like if you wash, you're gonna get weak.
SPEAKER_00Now, Leonard had had a whole will, you know, drawn up for all the children, but if he had died after Louise, which kind of wasn't even really possible, it would have been completely different. Well, actually, I don't know. So he left Louise in charge of the business and the will. And then Louise passed away. And this was in 1979, literally one year later. So I guess it was possible. Now she had gotten cancer, which devastated Willie because, much like Ed Geen, he and his mother were very close. He even called them two peas in a pod, which was weird because she treated him like shit. Even though he took care of her while she was sick. In the will that she took over just one year prior, she left everything to Linda and Dave. Now in Leonard's will, he left everything to the boys. But Louise changed it, left everything to Linda and Dave.
SPEAKER_02You flip the fucking shitty ass fucking Uno card out.
SPEAKER_00They were told to give Willie, $20,000 right away, but his full inheritance would not come to him until he was 40, and he had to stay and work on the farm until then. Those were the conditions, and he was only 30 at the time.
SPEAKER_02Oh my goodness, oppression.
SPEAKER_00And what's crazy too is that okay, so Leonard passed away, Louise passed away, and then there was this crazy fire. Crazy farm fire that killed 600 of their pigs. Could you imagine the smell?
SPEAKER_02Actually, probably smell good. This feels like a ricochet of a bunch of fucking debackery bullshit all at one time.
SPEAKER_00Oh, there's it's not gonna, it's not gonna slow down. It's gonna speed up.
SPEAKER_02And this is part one.
SPEAKER_00This is part one. Fuck.
SPEAKER_02Fuck.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Okay, so Willie, he's he's he's pissed off now. Oh, and and Willie was mentioned in her will as a farmhand.
SPEAKER_02You know that feeling though.
SPEAKER_00Yes, but at the same time, Dave was also listed as a farmhand, and Linda was listed as an accountant.
SPEAKER_02You're right or die, you don't hold up high, I guess, is their motto, right?
SPEAKER_00Right. It's crazy. So now, Linda, she's she's barely in contact with the family and has been for years, and good for her because girl, stay far away. But she stays in touch just enough to conduct whatever business is needed to be conducted, right? Now she becomes a realtor, she's she's successful in her own right. She really doesn't need the picked in money, but she decides to be smart with what she's got. And she's like, hey boys, uh, we can make a pretty penny if we sell a couple of these lots off the farm. And this would earn them millions.
SPEAKER_02Millions.
SPEAKER_00Millions. And then Dave, he really don't want shit to do with the pigs no more. So he starts a topsoil business and a demolition business. So they're literally rolling in it.
SPEAKER_02They're striving to get away, though, and be successful. So that salad's pretty good for them.
SPEAKER_00But when he can't get away, he it's in his will condition.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. What the fuck? So it seems like that mentality really even works throughout humanity. Like the ones that do the most get the least. If you think about it, even in my workplace. Yeah. Everybody, can you relate? Right? Hit us up in the comments. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00Fuck. Yeah. Tell us, send us your stories about your corporate jobs. Well, and Dave, he would at uh eventually have a shit ton of employees for his businesses. But his employees were those that really wouldn't pass a background check. In fact, Dave sh made sure that all of his employees were ex-cons, people down on their luck, or folks fresh out of rehab looking for some off-the-book employment.
SPEAKER_02Right. Some shady shit happened. Y'all better keep this under the covers.
SPEAKER_00And Dave he Dave really wanted like thrived life goal. He wanted to be a part of the Hells Angels. And actually started shopping cars for them for fraudulent insurance claims or what have you.
SPEAKER_02He's trying to gain status now.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And Willie would take, he would take care of that business. Like, like Dave was like, yeah, I'm chopping cars for the Hell's Angels, but like Willie was making it happen. And he's running the farm. Now, Willie also had a slew of customers that would order emu, rabbit, llama, and horse meat. And he would go to auctions and purchase those animals and butcher those for his private customers and store the meat in the family freezers. Now, okay, by the way, real quick before I get into that little side story, his business name was Bob. Because he's Robert William depicted. He went by Willie, but his business name was Bob. Yeah. Bob. So when Willie would go to auctions and purchase. This is fucking gonna be sick. When he would purchase these animals for his private customers, they were not the top notch. These were animals that would have oozing sores. They would be blind. I mean, there was they were the bottom of the barrel, the cheapest.
SPEAKER_02Cut around the bad parts while you're slaughtering them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That is so oozed. Infectiousness.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna talk more about him next week, but he had a butchering partner too with the last I can't remember the first name, but I'll talk more about him next week. Uh with the last name Casanova.
SPEAKER_01Oh.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. But we're we'll talk about more about him next week. But I just thought about him today.
SPEAKER_02I don't want to sing, but I want to sing right now. Why?
SPEAKER_00I'm no Casanova. Now Billy or uh excuse me, Willie, um, he would bury a lot of the leftover animal parts on the property, but most of them would go to a rendering plant. And he was a regular there. So they didn't really inspect his buckets very thoroughly. Now remember that, okay? And Jesse, what's a rendering plant?
SPEAKER_02That's what I mean.
SPEAKER_00Explain to our people who may not know.
SPEAKER_02Do they make the potted meat there? Well, a rendering plant they gather up like all the inconsumables, if you will say.
SPEAKER_00Right. And they turn them into gelatin, cosmetics, yeah. Things like that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, of course, well, the bones can be because it does turn into, you know.
SPEAKER_00Gelatin.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And then the fats they use for like lip glosses and and different cosmetics. So a lot of Canada could have been consuming some things that we're gonna talk about later on.
SPEAKER_02I mean, but everybody's been upcycling for hundreds of years. They were just working it out, but he was bringing fucking garbage to it. You know? You don't know what you're getting, you know. You don't know what you're getting into. You don't know what we're getting into.
SPEAKER_00It could have been more than just garbage today.
SPEAKER_02Oh, oh, oh. Lindsay, what did the women in that era put on?
SPEAKER_00So the rendering plant uh that he would go to, it was called West Coast Reduction. And it was near a spot called the Low Tracks, which was a popular spot to pick up sex workers. And remember that. Okay. Yeah, we're clocking that one in. Fuck. So back on the farm, Dave, he likes to have parties for especially for his workers. He's you know, he's that's kind of payment, you know. It's like you party on the farm. Yeah, and this was almost every night uh for his employees and his biker friends, and there would be lots of women and booze, plenty to go around.
SPEAKER_02So the picture in the full spectrum is he's just wide the fuck open, doing what the fuck ever.
SPEAKER_00Dave is wide the fuck open, and Willie's, he's he's always kind of staying to himself, and he he didn't want anyone near his filthy ass room, okay? And you know what's crazy? Dave, who was already who was he was popular, but he was stinky and gross himself. He would go get on to Willie for being stank and gross. And here's another thing about Dave. He liked to fat shame women. But you're stinky stank, dude. Like how dare you bastard you fucking absolute stinky ass troll. And you know, I'm never, I'm never gonna come for someone with a speech impediment because I know that a person can't help that. But if you are an asshole to me or fat shame me, the gloves are off. Well, I mean, I'm gonna make you feel like you're just garbage ass people either way. Exactly. You know, and I'm the biggest guy at Walmart. Well, I was gonna say we have a friend who was being verbally abused by somebody with a speech impediment. And I was like, girl, I don't like to make fun of people, but I'm telling you what, there ain't no way in fucking hell somebody like that is gonna talk to me like he talked to her.
SPEAKER_02Not that we're better than, but like at the same time, if you're a vile human.
SPEAKER_00You're a vile asshole, fuck you.
SPEAKER_02I'm going to carterize all of that stability that you think you fucking have going on right there, brother. Yeah, we're gonna make sure. Go wash your fucking ass, man.
SPEAKER_00Yes, go wash your ass. Now Willie's room was in the basement, and he had one single mattress with a huge black stain in the middle of it, and he had a horse head hanging on the wall. This was his favorite horse that he had had to put down. So he slaughtered it, cut the head off, and had a taxidermide. Is that is that what is that how you say that? Taxidermed, taxidermide, and hung it on the wall. Like I don't, I hate that. I absolutely hate walking into somebody's house and them have a fucking taxiderm animal on there, but a horse. I'm sorry. There's a because I mean a deer is too.
SPEAKER_02That's godfather style, right? Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Fucking insane. What?
SPEAKER_02I'm still like, what? I mean, I mean, okay, you gotta think of the raising of these.
SPEAKER_00I'm opening the second unruly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you better. And I'm getting low on mine. I'm geeking. You better be getting close to the end of this solid. I am, I'm getting there. We're getting there.
SPEAKER_00This is we ain't at the end by no means.
SPEAKER_02This is part one of the debauchery of just fucked uppery.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, he had the he had his horse hung on the wall. Now, Willie would also start to collect junk cars. So the pig farm would end up looking more like a junkyard than anything. And you know what's funny? I remember when I heard the last podcast boys talk about this many years ago. They what's that? What's the movie? What's the movie?
SPEAKER_02Christine? No. What? The junk.
SPEAKER_00The junk card, the junkyard, the junkyard movie, Dan Aykroyd, John Candy. Oh what's it called? Chevy Chase.
SPEAKER_02No way out. No, what is it? What is it? Oh, it's the Boba brothers. The oh nothing, nothing but trouble? Nothing but trouble.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Yes. Dimmy Moore. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02Tupac was in that motherfucker. Oh, yeah, you're right.
SPEAKER_00And that is what I fucking picture.
SPEAKER_02Their whole fucking compound. It just gotta go in. It is fucking.
SPEAKER_00And then you mix that with the Sawyer family and the Firefly family. Y'all come on in there. Like, this is just an entire cesspool of disgust.
SPEAKER_02That movie is genius, though.
SPEAKER_00It makes me sick every time we watch it.
SPEAKER_02That movie's genius.
SPEAKER_00It's so gross.
SPEAKER_02It is so disgusting. Woo! That's mine and my sister's favorite. Yeah. She calls me one of the one of the Boba brothers, the big belly boy.
SPEAKER_00Is that one of Dan's characters or John Candy's characters?
SPEAKER_02I think it was John Candy's. Whichever one, though, she calls me one of those all the time. I think that's why I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_00Because they both played multiple roles, right?
SPEAKER_02That's why she calls me Bobo. I think that movie is. Really? I think so.
SPEAKER_00I mean, but she calls Alex Bo too.
SPEAKER_02Well, I think it all started from there. Oh god.
SPEAKER_00All right.
Missing Women And Killer Tease
SPEAKER_00Down at the Low Tracks, where the city officials had basically sanctioned this area for sex workers, drug addicts, and the homeless, women would start disappearing over the next two decades. Over half of them were indigenous women.
SPEAKER_02Fucking hell. So up in that area? Are they clinked?
SPEAKER_00I will get back to you on that. Okay. I'm still doing I'm still working on part two.
SPEAKER_02I'm just trying to think of indigenous areas, and I think that would be close to the area which I have tattooed on my arm. I have it tattooed on my arm. One of my grandfathers of Native American religion that I've grown up with in all the stories is kind of from that area.
SPEAKER_00Well, the Royal Crown, Mounted Police, they didn't really want to investigate these missing women or believe that maybe there was a serial killer responsible for these disappearances. But there was. And we're going to talk more about that next week. Fuck, you just left me? I'm sorry. That's all I could do. I can't interrupt anymore.
SPEAKER_02I'm sorry. What am I gonna do? What am I gonna do?
SPEAKER_00So we have two more parts. I thought I was gonna be able to get it done in two parts, and I'm definitely not. It's gonna take three.
SPEAKER_02So we build a compound. We have the hell's angels.
SPEAKER_00We have a sex worker ring.
SPEAKER_02Whatever, but still he's building this whole empire of just like what you were talking about with the movie.
SPEAKER_00And like I said, Willie, he's our main character, but Dave is not much better as far as the core human being. Willie is just going to well we'll get there. Dot dot dot. We'll get there.
unknownFuck.
SPEAKER_00Fuck.
SPEAKER_05Pins and needles.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's gonna be really, really bad next week and then uh part three.
SPEAKER_02We'll be like part of the okay. I got you. We got you.
SPEAKER_00We got you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, huge hugs on this one. It's fucking horrific. This is fucking sick. It's been a rough week.
SPEAKER_00It's been a rough week. It's gonna be really, really rough next week, writing out part two. Um, so yeah, I need you to cleanse my palate. Hook me up with some music.
SPEAKER_02Lindsay, I have to soak this in a little bit because this is very fucking weird to me.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02Can't fucking understand how this lines up like this.
Pig Milk Feature And Closing Plugs
SPEAKER_02This band is called Pig Milk. You're fucking shitting me. Brought to us by Aaron, your fucking bestie. Oh my god. I am just dumbfounded. But you know, this song is called Breakdown by Pig Milk, sent to us by Aaron, and you're gonna fucking love it. So here it goes. I'm so excited.
SPEAKER_05Here's another breakdown. Are you looking for a winner?
SPEAKER_04There's a war in the mind every night, and you can see it by the look in my eye.
SPEAKER_00Aaron, you dig good girl. You sent us a good one. Not that I doubt her music taste at all. So good. That's what me and Aaron bonded over. Many, many, many, many.
SPEAKER_02I had no clue that you were actually. I have no feeling. Oh no. No clue at all.
SPEAKER_00Aaron, the stars aligned for that one.
SPEAKER_02Well, you're looking up the Insta. What did you say?
SPEAKER_00Okay. Wait a minute.
SPEAKER_02Aaron the Weird, followed by you said that.
SPEAKER_00I said, look, Jesse, followed by you and my bestie, Erin the Weird. So if you want to follow Aaron, Instagram at Erin theory.
SPEAKER_02Definitely follow Pig Milk. There's amazing from New York.
SPEAKER_00Yes, they are a Brooklyn-based Suffolk rock band. And um, they have an EP called Choke It Down. Go listen to it right now. Follow them. And while you're at it, if this is your first episode, follow us.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, drinkaboutsomething.site. You can find all the coolness. But Lindsay, the stars just aligned at the end of this fucking debacle.
SPEAKER_00Oh, God. It's crazy because I was just telling Jesse, I was like, this is fucking wild. Because last time we were at Erin and Morgan's house, she was asking me if I was gonna cover Willie Picton. And then she recommended this badass band. Oh my god, I love that band. I'm gonna put them on everything right now. Good.
SPEAKER_01Thank you.
SPEAKER_00So, Aaron, this one's for you, girl. Yes. I wish she were here right now.
SPEAKER_02We dedicate this episode to Aaron.
SPEAKER_00Yes. And she has been on the pod with us with her amazing wife, Morgan. Yes. And they are the mothers of my niece and nephew pups, Bailey and Chewy.
SPEAKER_02So precious. Oh my god, I love it. Everything is so precious right now. I'm clouded up in a pat of lecra.
SPEAKER_00We're like, yeah.
SPEAKER_02No, like I was like in the middle of listening to this jam-ass song, and I'm already kind of listened to it already. And you know, of course. And I'm singing fucking loud in the background. You know, we mute our mics because we're jamming the fuck out.
SPEAKER_00And like just yelling at each other, like, this is so water. I know, dude.
SPEAKER_02Like we won the lottery.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_02Literally. That's our lottery right here.
SPEAKER_00And Jesse said that Pig Milk, y'all are the tits. Y'all responded immediately. And that's always awesome. Love the connection. But you know what? All the bands that we have featured so far have been amazing. Like they have reposted every time we tag them. We love all of you guys so much. We are so appreciative. This is my dream come true.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Like I want to talk about troop crime and I want to boost amazing music. Like it's just everything.
SPEAKER_02Oh, these guys are gonna make it. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00They're gonna be they're gonna be at Rockville next year. Yeah. Because guess what? Guess he's gonna be at Rockville 2027.
SPEAKER_02One of our featured bands.
SPEAKER_00One of our featured bands. Last sight. Yeah. Oh, I'm so ready.
SPEAKER_02This will be our third year of playing music that has actually made it to Rockville. I know. Vocals, voices, human beings that have recorded.
SPEAKER_00I know.
SPEAKER_02Have actually played on our podcast too.
SPEAKER_00I know. Well, AuroraWave hasn't been to Rockville, but they were on Shiprocked. Yeah, but the song we played had Alex. Oh, that's right.
SPEAKER_02Or not Alex. Attila. Yeah, Attila.
SPEAKER_00Attila. Yep.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Franzilla.
SPEAKER_00Franzilla from Attila.
SPEAKER_02Yes. So they were there.
SPEAKER_00It's just uh we're we're loving this journey.
SPEAKER_02AuroraWave will be at Rockville. They're gonna be.
SPEAKER_00They're good to well, um, yeah. I mean, they're but they're on they've been at other festivals.
